Two people frowning at a salami inspired by my experience selling salami at Borough Market, is a durational performance that embodies stillness and contemplation. The act of frowning, deliberately left open to interpretation, enhances the inherent ambiguity of the salami itself. As a quintessential piece of performance art, it encourages audiences to delve into multifaceted themes such as masculinity, mortality, labor, and the essence of meat, or even to ponder the salami's aesthetic qualities, all while intentionally resisting a singular, definitive meaning.
